Hey there readers,
Hope all is good. Here’s the next instalment of my infamous newsletter (infamous now, and maybe one day it will be world famous - I will try and make that happen).
Disclaimer:
This is not perfect, and there will be typos and parts that are not neatly glued together. But the point is more to build up my newsletter count and have a bit of fun. You can point out my mistakes, and I will ignore you and make more of them.
You’re welcome!!
So, what’s on my mind? Keep reading….
Let’s Celebrate
So, here we are already, in double figures for my posts. It’s a small milestone, and I am taking every win I can. The consistency is stabilising and the fact that you are still reading means a great deal and should be celebrated. Join me won’t you, in a toast of achievement. And may there be many many more to come.
A weekend of catching up with friends, means only one thing……no cooking, eating and drinking out. Ok, so that’s not the only thing, but it’s the thing that puts a smile on your face (at least it does for me). To get into the swing of things, it was also time for a takeaway, the night before, in preparation. While I have shared pictures of the delicious cuisine I have devoured, it probably isn’t what you’d want to see every post from now on. What I do want to do, is share the contents of a fortune cookie that I found in the delivery package. Here it is:
The secret of getting ahead is getting started.
Now this plays more importance, if you remember back to the last post, where I mentioned I am starting my journey on Twitch. How many times have said in the past that you are going to do something and months on you still haven’t done a thing? Well, the secret is out, and it’s clear. Get started!!!
Thinking
I’m always thinking, so this post, like any other allows me to think about things I’d like to share with you. This time, it’s the weather that I am thinking about. Around the globe we are experiencing all sorts of weather conditions, and in some places it’s even hotter than has ever been recorded. And yet, here in the UK, oh yes, we can always guarantee that the weather will be a talking point. And not always in a good way. We have just stepped out of July and I have to say, it was probably one of the worst. I mean, wind, rain and low temperatures are just not what you want in summer time. At the time of writing, August 1st, today is nice and sunny. How long will it last? Until tomorrow, where it’s predicted to rain for the next five days. Hoorah!!!
News
X and Threads
Scooting through the internet and I stumble across some changes and additions to the socials. Actually, it was the apps on my phone that prompted me to even bother looking. There was an app with a white X on a black background, which I was thinking, what the heck is that and where did it come from. So this is the creative work (well maybe not so creative) of Elon Musk, where he has a thing for the letter X. Think, SpaceX, Model X, and I think even his son answers to the name of X. What does it mean? Who knows??? But one thing is for sure, the company formerly know as Twitter (or maybe its not quite complete yet) is evolving into something knew. Reading on in the article, it seems that X will be similar to WeChat, where the desire is to be the ‘everything’ app for people. Where whatever they need is all available in a single app. I’ve given Mr M enough airtime in my newsletter, so if you are curious, go check it out.
And the next piece of news is probably what has partially triggered such a move in the first place. Meta (formerly known as Facebook), that owns Instagram has branched out and created a Twitter-like experience called Threads. Again, it’s probably worth checking out, but this is all you are going to get for now.
Japanese man spends £12,000 to become a dog
Hands up who a first glance thought this was a real dog. I mean, without reading the title you would easily just pass by as a normal picture of a dog. And yet, when you read the title you are trying to figure out, how this can be. Apparently it’s true and this is where some people will go to any extreme to become whatever they want.
Watching
Missing: The Lucie Blackman Case
The Never Ending Murder
Both of these stories are sad, but for different reasons. I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it, but worth a watch.
Listening
Listening to music has always been part of my DNA, and generally I steer more in the urban space. Having said that, I will open that boundary to almost any other genre just to inspire in the experimentation of my own productions.
Hip Hop
Decided to revisit and update my catalogue of new hip hop sounds, and these are some of the albums that have been recently released.
Nas - Magic 2
J Hus - Beautiful and Brutal Yard
Travis Scott - Utopia
Creative Zone
Creativity is the core of my existence, It’s a creative rollercoaster of producing either music tracks, mixtapes, 3d scenes, or digital garments. Sometimes you have to take time out, engulf yourself in new techniques and ideas and then go again. Watch this space….periodically new stuff will be here.
Here I am, happy to say that my Twitch Journey blog is in full swing on my website. With the support of ChatGPT, I am creating posts to help anyone interested in doing the same thing, what steps you can take. I know I keep going on about it, but that’s the marketing/promotion side of me kicking in.
Advice
Try to remove negativity, try to remove the word ‘But’ when you want to achieve something. How many times have you you set yourself a goal, and then almost instantly followed it up with…but I can’t because of this, that and the other? Work hard on trying to stop doing this. The reason why, is because once you add that part to something you want to do, you are then telling your brain that you don’t actually want to achieve it. And in doing that, you won’t find the solution. For example, before you would say, I want to buy a new set of clothes, but I can’t afford it. This can be turned positive by saying, I want to buy a new set of clothes, and I will find a way to afford it. Then your brain will try and find a way to make it happen.
Till the next time
And that is it, the end of this post. Hopefully this is enough to encourage you to return for more. Each post will be different, and include different elements of my thoughts depending on what has happened in the day-to-day life from the last post.
Remember, if you found this useful/entertaining just drop a like. If you have any suggestions for future post elements, just drop me a line. I have enabled the chat functionality, so you are able to communicate through that channel. Thanks.
Stay safe and I’ll catch you in the next post.
